Keep on Eatin’!

[ 2 ] September 5, 2010 |

Some of you might have noticed via Twitter or Facebook that I am now a vegetarian. I made a smooth and quick transition and I am absolutely loving it. My goal is to become a vegan, but that will take a little more time and effort. I am announcing this here because, well… if I knew someone was a vegetarian and they were posting meat recipes, I’d be like ‘huh?’

I have always been a bigger fan of vegetable based meals rather than meat ones. I tried to be a vegetarian when I was younger, but it was very difficult and I eventually gave up. Eating meat was just easier. I decided recently to look into it more and I realized how it would be so much easier now. I spend a ton of time in the kitchen, so it wouldn’t be hard at all to transition my cooking to a vegetarian style. Then, I watched the PETA video on their website. I will not link it. I have very strong views about it and I am not a fan of trying to turn my views into yours. Feel free to go search for it, but realize that you might never eat meat again if you watch it! So, now I am 100% determined and have made some nice steps towards turning my kitchen into a vegan friendly one.

(My kitchen… where the magic happens! Yea, that’s the best pictures I had… guess I wanted you to check out my floor!)

What I want to say with this post is that my husband is a meat eater. He will be forever, I know that for sure! I would never try to change his views, he makes his own choices. I will still be posting meat based and non-vegetarian/non-vegan recipes. He has to eat too! So now you know that if you see a meat dish, I might not have eaten it, but my hubby has. And it won’t be on here unless he loves it!

So whatever you eat, keep on eatin it and be ready for plenty of wonderful recipes of all different varieties to come here on my blog : )

I also post recipes, that I don’t eat on occasion. I loathe hamburger, but my husband loves it.

Congratulations! I have not made the transition yet but know it’s much healthier. There’s so much you can do with tofu too, which is one of my favs. I cook only for myself and think it may be easier to do the vegetarian thing.
